01. Initial Enquiry and Assessment

Schedule a site visit to assess the scope of the project and gather essential information, such as the size of the roof, current condition and specific client requirements.

02. Detailed Proposal and Estimate

Based on the gathered information, create a detailed proposal that outlines the scope of work, materials to be used and the estimated time frame for completion.

03. Follow-Up and Finalisation:

Follow up with the client to answer any remaining questions and ensure they are satisfied with the proposed plan.

A Range of our Thatching Services

Full re-thatch

Whether your roof is thatch in long straw, combed wheat reed or water reed we provide a second to none thatching service on roofs of all shapes and sizes.

Re-ridge

After the first 10-15 years of any thatched roofs life, it will need to be re-ridged. A re-ridge consists of stripping the existing ridge back to the coat underneath and building it back up with new straw.

Fire boarding

When a thatched roof is stripped back to the timbers, the customer has the option to fire board the roof. We use TAS 100 fire board that complies with regulations and is a leading material in its field.

Pest-control

We provide advise in respect of pest control. We can block up any holes in the wire netting and we can also bait loft spaces in order to catch any pests remaining in the roof.

Maintenance programmes

Some people like to have their thatched roof monitored over its lifespan. If your roof has been thatched within the last 7 years, this I not necessary. However, some older roofs benefit from a check-up from time to time that we can arrange for you.

Lead cement and timberwork

A lot of thatched properties can be historic buildings and when thatching works begin rotten or broken timbers and perished cement or lead work can be uncovered.
